We began planning this trip back in December – before we had a caravan. Plans have been changing a fair bit. Today the plan is quite minimal. Tomorrow, we head out of Brisbane along the same route we took last weekend to get to Best Brook Mountain Resort. We get ourselves to Kerang, Victoria, by the 5th or 6th of April and spend the Easter weekend at Kerang for a caravan gathering. On the 20th of April we are booked in to a camp site in Crystal Brook for an other gathering of caravaners. Back at work on the 8th of May. One of the reasons the plan is so vague is the uncertainty of road conditions. Currently there is still some flooding as can be seen from the http://livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/desktop.html website.
Not only on the way to Kerang, but also across to Crystal Brook (via Mildura) and then for the way back near Brocken Hill. We just have to decide our directions on a daily basis, checking road conditions as we go. After our experience with the cold last weekend we will certainly put more warm clothes into the caravan. Apart from that, we didn’t come accross anything major missing, so we should be right for this trip.
