Bedford Weir, Blackwater

We spent a pleasant 5 days (4 nights) at the Bedford Weir some 25km north of Blackwater. The weir is damming the Mackenzie River and is a playground for water sport as well as for birds. Not much to do here, except relaxing, walking and bird watching. I thoroughly enjoyed doing nothing, sitting around, chatting with people, going for short walks and finding a geocache (Weird Al Ver 2.0 link only works for premium geocaching members).

Finding the geocache.

One day we also did the washing – my part was being the water carrier.

We also did a trip to the Blackdown Tableland National Park from the Bedford Weir. This is covered in a separate blog.
