On the way to Lake Dyer we stopped in Gatton to have a bit of breakfast. More importantly there is phone coverage in Gatton and I was able to collect my email. Appointment with the big boss on Monday morning. It looks promising for my VR!
Lake Dyer recreation area was full and we were turned away by the caretaker. As we were sitting at the exit of the camping area we studied the map to plan our next stop. Soon we were approached by a member of the Australian Caravan Club. He had noticed our sticker on the back and came to offer one of their sites. They had reserved 10 sites for the weekend muster, but needed only 6. This worked out well and we had a good afternoon with them.
Lake Dyer recreation area is very pleasant and attracts a lot of visitors – both campers as well as day trippers bringing their power boats. As a consequence it gets very busy. The camp sites are very close together and not really our preferred arrangement. All the same we had a good time with the ACC Country Cruisers.
