Lake Keepit

Friday 3rd to Monday, 6th May 2013
It was a short drive from Tamworth to Lake Keepit. Lake Keepit [CAW6
NSW #328] is in beautiful unspoilt area. It is a State Park and is well looked after. We decided on the ‘bush camping’ area – this basically means you can camp anywhere you like except in the formalncamping area. We chose a spot a little bit back from the lake, close to trees. We were completely on our own, couldn’t see another van and only seldom a human being. This was a nice contrast to Tamworth and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Can you spot the caravan?

Apart from doing the washing on Saturday we didn’t do much. Just sitting there watching the bird life and the cattle.

This is grazing land and the cattle wander around paying little attention to us. Apart from the bull that came straight towards the van making loud noises. We stayed well in the van until he wandered off.

In the evenings we enjoyed the kangaroos that were coming out to graze.

Mustn’t forget the sunsets!

Another bit of entertainment was provided by the nearby soaring club.

There was internet making it easy to while away the hours.

Hi guys ,as usual we love your blog ,photos are amazing and I do appreciate you giving Lesley the credit for her shots !!what a guy .We want to know how you are loosing all this weight ,is it just all the walking? Much love to you both. All good here went on the train to Nambour yesterday had lunch at the RSL which I must say was the best Ive been to . Public transport well what can I say !!!

    • Hi Jill, I think it is a combination of
      – only eating 2 meals a day
      – having smaller meals
      – drinking less wine
      – drinking more water
      – walking more
      – caravanning is a lot more physical than office work
      – snacking less (i.e. no fruit slice with my morning cappuccino from the shop across from work)
      – deliberate exercising
Also I can’t have a chocolate bar without Lesley knowing….

Alternatively I have a bad disease that is eating away at me.

I know which one I prefer!

Also I think Lesley’s loss of weight is remarkable. Lost at least 5kg since we started on the trip which is about the same as I lost in the same amount of time.

Caravanning is a healthy life style. You should try it! Sorry David – didn’t mean to add fuel to the fire.
