Devils Marbles

Friday, 7th June 2013

After an early start we had a good run into Tennant Creek. A quick stop to refuel and a stop at the post office to put the failed relay in the mail for Terry to check it out.

By 11:30 we reached Devils Marbles – granite formations of outstanding beauty. What a spot to provide camping sites for $3.30 per person per night. It is a National Park campsite. What a view.

I don’t think words can do these rocks justice, photos give you a better impression, but nothing like being here walking through these amazing formations. So I will let the pictures stand without much explanation.

The rocks are not the only special thing here. The flora is also amazing.

In the afternoon it clouded over. Towards the evening I had an other walk around taking more photos in the changed light.

Just before sunset, the sun managed to push through the clouds, changing the mood again.
