continued from previous post…
We soon went off for a walk to find the geocache – this time with fully charged batteries. It was a relatively easy find, although getting to it involved descending the rocky breakaway.
We decided to follow the ‘Breakaway Track’ as well. This takes you along the top of the breakaway, giving way to good views and then takes you down to the other side to return to the starting point.
Lesley signalled us to be quiet as she had noticed this kangaroo on the path. It stayed put until we moved towards it.
Once we climbed down from the breakaway, we could examine these amazing trees more closely. The colour of the bark is vibrant red.
We once again saw ant hills, this time I even could spot an ant,
as well as an explanation of the hills.
When we returned to the camp site, there was already a fire going. It was an evening of dinner prepared on the fire. For us it was lamb shanks cooked in the camp oven over the fire. While sitting around the campfire, Lesley spotted these parrots.
It was good meeting up and spending an evening with our friends.
