Oodnadatta Track – 2 – Sculptures

Heading North West from Marree, the Oodnadatta Track is a well maintained dirt road. We travelled at good speed and soon arrived at this amazing place in the middle of nowhere that has huge sculptures placed into the landscape.

These airplanes were transported from Melbourne and painted and erected here. In the background, on the horizon, to the left of the airplane, you can see a black spot. This is an enormous water tower used for railways that has been transformed to look like a dog from the distance. This gives you an idea of the scale of this sculpture area.

Here is a closer photo that shows the dog I mentioned above.

We only stopped for a short while to have a look around. All of us had been here before so we soon headed further East.
