4th August, 2015.
Following our short stop in Croydon, we drove further east on the Savannah Way to the Cumberland Historic Mine Site, 20 kms east of Georgetown, where we had been told we could camp for the night.
Our campsite up on the hill above the dam. All the spots along the dam edge were taken when we arrived before lunch, we backed into this spot out of the way.
Taken from the dam wall, our van is at the back. As new arrivals found their spots, we were lucky to keep a view of the water between the vehicles.
My panorama taken from almost the same spot late in the afternoon.
Termite mounds photographed in the afternoon.
And a different perspective in the morning mist.
Part of the dam.
Cumberland Dam is an absolute bird lover’s paradise. The following photos are all bird related. You have been warned!
