Cobbold Gorge – Helicopter Flight

7th August, 2015.

Our helicopter flight was booked for 2 pm but for some reason it was postponed till 2.30 pm however the sun was quite co-operative in allowing us some reasonable photos. It was quite difficult to get shots of the Gorge itself as it is so narrow at the top.

Our transport.

I hoped the helicopter was better maintained than the sneakers worn by the pilot!

The resort from the air.

Our van, on the right, from above.

The dry bed of the Johnston River which we crossed in the 4WD bus to reach the Gorge.

Considering the topography, it is hardly surprising that the Gorge was only discovered in the early 1990s.

And then we begin to see it.

A wonderful treat that we were very pleased to experience.
