Day 50 – Gascoyne River Middle Branch

20th July, 2016.

After leaving Karijini National Park, we headed south east to the mining town of Newman where we planned to fuel up and stock up on groceries. There was nothing very remarkable about the town and we took no photos except this one when we stopped for fuel on the way out of town. Very heavily zoomed so not great quality.

Our planned camp for the night was at the Gascoyne River Middle Branch free camp on the banks of the Gascoyne River. It was quite muddy when we arrived so we weren’t keen to venture too far in case we got stuck. All the same we found a nice spot with plenty of sunshine for the solar panels.

A few birds were about.

Whistling Kite.

Galah.

I think this is a Yellow-plumed Honeyeater but can’t be positive because of the angle of the head.
