After being shown to our cabins, we settled in the lounge to formally meet the Captain and Crew.
Eric and “Hotel Manager” Amy.
2nd June, 2017.
Our first cruise day. Each day the notice board presented us with our daily schedule along with our meals. Here are samples.
Throughout the cruise, the meals were nothing short of outstanding. Freshly baked breads and cookies each day and every meal made from scratch.
We were now anchored in Misty Fjords and true to its name it was drizzling lightly. The Captain announced there would be kayaking in pairs for those who wished and the zodiac would be deployed for the less adventurous. Kayaking proved to be popular and with just 4 double kayaks and 37 passengers, it turned into a tag team event with each couple having around 20 minutes to explore. The rest of us piled into the zodiac wearing our supplied wet weather gear and life jackets.
Our zodiac skipper took us close in to shore at times. The following photos are self-explanatory.
One of the reasons for choosing a small ship cruise was to be able to go to places like this where the large cruise ships cannot get to.
